We did Adalyn’s first birthday photoshoot in honor of my wife. Today, marks one year of losing my wife but also having our beautiful daughter become one year old. We had Adalyn dress up in a pink dress has her mommy did and took pictures at the same location where we did our maternity shoot.

It’s been a tough journey but I did it with my head held high. I try to be the best father I could be for my daughter. I want to make my wife proud.

Adalyn, I know if your mommy was here, she would have been the happiest person alive. She would be so excited to celebrate your birthday. Today marks 2 years since you been gone but, in your honor, Adalyn and I reenacted our maternity shoot to celebrate our daughter turning 2 years old. We miss you everyday.

It is always a bittersweet feeling because the day our daughter turns 2, is the same day that marks 2 years of you passing. I always remember you and your legacy will never fade. You gave up your life to save our daughter and that will never be forgotten.

Adalyn is looking more like you every day! You would be so proud because she’s just like you. The way she smiles and looks at me. It reminds me how you used to smile and look at me.

Today marks 3 years since you been gone, yet it feels like it was just yesterday. This day always been so bittersweet because the day I lost you, is the same day I celebrate our daughter’s birthday. I wish you were here with me, celebrating our daughter’s birthday but you’re in heaven now, watching over us. I hope I’m making you proud. I do this photoshoot to honor you and to remind the world, what a beautiful person we lost but most importantly, to our daughter so she can know what an amazing woman you were so that one day she could grow up as amazing as you! I love you and will forever love you…
