in a farm house on the countryside.
I’ve been learning the ropes of shooting and filming myself, getting comfortable in front of the camera rather than staying behind.
I think part of the reason I have kept away from being photographed or filmed by others so extensively is because of the want and need to be taken seriously for my artistic visions and skills, rather than being categorised based on my looks and gender.
As a female in this industry, it can feel sometimes like I am running on shifting sand. Feeling the natural urge to be gentle and kind, slow and soft. But to be able to get ahead often requires a more masculine attitude of selling yourself, organisation, strategy and firm communication. On top of that, a new discovery I have had that is “knowing my worth”, learning to turn away jobs that do not serve a purpose to make way for opportunities that will.
I’ve spent the summer in Australia focusing on my health and working on my skills (in depth), for summer in Europe/U.S.
I feel ready to take on the world with a new perspective and a new belt of tools,
leaving past versions of myself that have had
me in a chokehold behind.

Art exists in everything.
All of us.

Shout out to my favourites at @silverhalidestudios for being the best.
