25A Passage From Jared: I’ve been watching Tom Cruise movies all my life. I actually remember when the first Mission Impossible came out. After seeing it, I would run around my house pretending to be Ethan Hunt while yelling RED LIGHT! GREEN LIGHT! (If you’ve seen the movie then you’ll get it.) I’ve seen a Few Good Men at least 25 times, we incorporated Iines from Jerry Maguire into our wedding ceremony, and don’t get me started on Top Gun. He’s my favorite actor and I’m happy to report that meeting him was one of the most fulfilling moments of my life.
He truly gave Ashley and me his time and full attention for a few minutes on Sunday AND Monday. (Photo & video is from Monday’s press meeting.) We told him how much his movies have meant to us and how they’ve played a role in our relationship since I quoted the full “You Had Me at Hello” scene during BIP2. He spoke to us with so much kindness and gratitude. Ashley and I used to joke about how magnetizing and engaged we imagined Cruise would be if we were to ever met him…and he was even beyond our dreams.
While working the red carpet, we got to witness him talk to every single fan and talk to every reporter which took about three hours. From what I hear, he does this at every red carpet he attends. I honestly felt lucky to have witnessed the absolute joy he gave people by giving them just a short amount of his time. I know it might sound ridicul
