Last day with the kids in Costa Rica was super emotional & there were tears all around. I’m by no means naive enough to believe all the emotion around me leaving was a direct consequence of me. I’m aware in part I was a symbol for other things they were going to lose, or they’d already lost in their lives. Some for instance are about to turn 12 and will be too old for this school & will lose a place of sanctuary.

I’ll be back though, my next fight I’ll have the name Diviño Niño on my shorts and after I’ll go see them all and try and provide some extra resources with my winnings.

These kids reinvigorated my spirit and gave me an extra lust for life in its truest form that I had maybe lost sight off, so I owe them.

I can comfortably say volunteering in Costa Rica was one of the best things I’ve ever done and if you get the chance to do something similar go for it.

It definitely won’t be my last trip.
