HOW OUR LIFE FEELS IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW IT LOOKS
I used to believe if I had
👉🏼 “a respected career”
👉🏼 “the best clothes”
👉🏼 “a certain aesthetic”
👉🏼 “a big, beautiful house”
👉🏼 “a handsome partner”
👉🏼 “a certain body type”
👉🏼 “more money”
👉🏼 “more followers”
…that I would be happy 🙃
Guess what- I eventually experienced all of those things and sadly, was still miserable on the inside
I am grateful for that humbling lesson. Because it led me back to the reality that happiness, joy, and fulfillment do not come from these external things
Sure, we get a dopamine hit, but that isn’t true happiness. It was chasing these dopamine hits until I hit a wall
Eventually, I had to realize the common denominator in my misery was me. I had learned to not love or respect myself. I was the one getting in my own way, yet I focused on things outside of me
I had to ask myself, “Who am I without these things?”
I had to face myself. Habits, actions/inactions, patterns, thoughts, reactions, and beliefs
I had to learn to totally and completely love and accept myself unconditionally- not just when I reached a certain goal. This was a trap!
Some of the happiest people I know have the least of the things mentioned above + make the most of their circumstances
So this is what I chose to do. So much of the work I needed wasn’t to add more, but letting go of beliefs that held me back
Don’t believe everything yo
