“Hi Amanda, I hope you’re well. Several years ago you modeled one of my gowns for a photoshoot and I remember you being so upset over a breakup at that time. I knew in a few years you would be happy again and glad that things have worked out so well for you. I saw you’re engaged now on Instagram and I’m not one to solicit my services, but my instincts keep telling me to reach out…”

I felt my eyes widen as I re-read her words, “my instincts keep telling me to reach out.” Looks to me like another message from the universe.

03/21/2023: Speechless…
These are the first few chapters in the story of how I came about designing my own wedding dress with the immensely talented Lisa Van Hattem @lvhcustombridalgowns 🤍 I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity and can't wait to share what we’ve dreamed up 💭

“To the people that mocked me while I was trying to take this picture by myself. This photo is for you. To show you it’s okay to be vulnerable and take pictures by yourself.” - Scotty

Two weeks ago I stepped out of my comfort zone and booked a solo stay in Canmore. Sleep deprived from my travels, but full of excitement and caffeine I headed down to Quarry Lake for the sunset.

There stood the Three Sister mountains — and I was eager to snatch a photo in front of them. I set up my tripod, framed the picture and that’s when I heard them…

“Oh my god she even has a tripod.”
“Oh look at me— getting photos of yourself by yourself, it’s just so pathetic”.

I was shocked. Two strangers, nearby were just loudly dripping their disdain for me as they noticed what I was doing. They continued to voice their venom and I felt my head start to spin.

“Am I seriously getting judged for this? Wait… Am I crying? Oh no I am! Am I pathetic? Should I leave… Why can’t I stop crying I don’t even know these people?!”

Grateful for the big sunglasses trend I pulled on my shades and messaged the one person I knew would know what to say — Scotty.

After recounting what I was going through, I watched those three little dots dance on my screen as he replied…

“Do you still have your bear spray? Are they in range?”

Tip: Find someone who can make you laugh in the moments it feels impossible to.

THE PONTE VECCHIO — Florence on the mind ☁️

Let's dive back into honeymoon content shall we! 🍯🌙Florence was one of @scottyshares and my favourite Italian destinations. It was incredible to see the history and wander the streets not knowing what would be around the next corner. We were lucky to have our hotel was situated right beside the Ponte Vecchio!

The Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest and most famous bridge, dates back to the 14th century. Known for its unique design, it’s lined with charming shops that originally housed butchers but later became home to jewelers by decree of the Medici family. Surviving World War II intact, it stands as a symbol of Florence’s resilience and beauty. Today, the Ponte Vecchio is a must-see, offering stunning views of the Arno River and a timeless blend of history and art! ✨
