❌ Dropping crosses
❌ Fumbling shots
❌ I was physically getting stuck
Confusion turned into anxiety, which turned into anger. And honestly… I was embarrassed. I could feel people questioning me, and I was questioning myself too.
I was already undersized for my position, had several serious injuries, some requiring surgery, and a big reputation in my sport.
‼️What I didn’t know was that my nervous system was on overdrive, and it started shutting down on me without me knowing it.
I wanted to be the starter, win a national title, and to be “that guy.” The one your team trusts when everything’s on the line.
So I did what most athletes do: tried to motivate myself out of it. Pep talks. Hype videos. Extra training. I figured I’d lost my skills, so I needed to “grind harder.”
Nothing worked. I lost the starting spot twice and ended my career knowing I played below my potential.
Years later, a coach asked me to describe my college career in three words. I said: “fear, anger, resentment.” Hearing that out loud hurt.
💭 How did the sport that used to be my escape turn into a cage?
I was coaching soccer and thought, “What if my players are capable of more, but their minds are sabotaging them, as mine did? And what if they’re silently trying to figure it out on their own?"
I went back to school, got my master’s in Sport & Performance Psy

I've seen some amazing results from my athletes!
Before going through the EMP method, athletes are usually:
❌ frustrated with their performance
❌ getting stuck or hesitating
❌ overthinking or having mental blocks
❌ performing worse in competition than practice
They try what most athletes do:
👉 talk or think their way out
👉 watch hype videos
👉 just "ignore it" or
👉 just be "positive"
Those didn't work!
What actually does work?
✨ nervous system regulation
✨ systemized mental training plans
✨ personalized mental routines and exercises
✨1:1 coaching for accountability
This method has radically freed these athletes from mental barriers and got them competing with effortless flow and focus within 3 months of working together.
The best part? I integrate Brainspotting and other nervous system practices to help cut through the deepest mental blocks that basic sports psychology techniques can't reach!
