The older I get, the less I care about those things.
I want to collect as many life experiences as possible.
A $250 pair of shoes might make you happy for a day, but $250 spent on a concert, trip, lesson, or experience will give you memories that will last a lifetime.
I’ve been big on introducing more novelty into my life. I’m constantly trying to switch things up by going to different coffee shops, listening to different genres of music, taking a different route on my walks, etc.
I saw a stat the other day that 40% of people never move out of their hometown. There is so much to explore and experience in this life, but we have to be open to the discomfort and uncertainty that comes from exploration.
That’s why I continue to travel, take on new challenges, and say yes to things that are outside my comfort zone.
I don’t want to get to the end of my life and have a bunch of regrets or “what ifs.”
I’m trying to love life like my new friend loves falafels 🤣
Invest in experiences. What you’ll get back will be tenfold.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t pulled the trigger on?

I visited @nccworship today while in DC and had the opportunity to listen to @markbatterson preach this morning and this line hit home for me (literally).
Until I was 15 I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania with less than 2,000 people that has one stop light, one pizza shop, and the place to hang out after school was at the local Wal-Mart.
I’m grateful for all of the memories and amazing people I grew up with and are still part of my life. At the same time, I knew that I needed to move away if I was ever going to pursue the dreams I had as a kid.
I moved to Austin because I knew I had to surround myself with dreamers.
Being in D.C. this weekend and spending time with others from 180 countries has opened my eyes to how big the world really is, how different our cultures are, and how crucial it is to put ourselves in environments that force us to think differently.
When we’re exposed to new environments, people, and cultures, we begin to grow.
Grateful for this weekend, and grateful for life 🌎❤️

It took me being at my lowest point mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally to make a change.
When @flips4miles sent me that @garyvee clip, I knew it was time to just go.
I always had a desire to create something, but I was always afraid of what other people would say about me, and I made every excuse why I couldn’t or shouldn’t start creating something of my own.
If I never made that decision to start podcasting during the pandemic in 2020, I wouldn’t be on the path that I am now.
When life throws a wrench at us, we can either choose to go through it, or GROW through it.
I hope you choose the latter 🌱🔋

We spend so much of our lives striving to see a certain number in our bank account, drive the boujee car, buy a big house, or afford expensive clothes.

If you’re from a small town, it can be hard to dream big.

The hardest part of this journey was getting started.
