Colombia is home to 10% of the world’s biodiversity – and it couldn’t have felt more right to celebrate the Colombian women at the forefront of the country’s environmental efforts.

For the opening night of Nature House by theglobalgoals, we hosted an incredibly special event bringing together 8 women – from a scientist to actress to journalist to activists and more – who shared their stories and reflections on what it means to protect Colombia’s most vital ecosystems.

And what’s a night in Cali, Colombia, without throwing some salsa into the mix?

The evening also featured a captivating live performance by artist Venuz White, who beautifully wove the voices of these women into her water artwork, incorporating hydromancy and sounds from rainwater collected in Colombia’s sacred Páramo.

As we weave our stories, we remind ourselves that to care for nature is to recognize it as part of us.

We’ve touched down in the salsa capital of the world — coincidentally, Cali is also the host of cop16colombja, the global biodiversity conference taking the world by the storm.

This is a historic moment and opportunity to build a unified front towards the climate and biodiversity crises.

This season of popular reality TV show Love is Blind introduces Taylor Krause, a clean energy consultant tackling climate pollution off-screen.

Could Taylor’s presence signal a growing shift in how these topics are entering mainstream culture?

Well, there were 28,424 mentions of climate in unscripted TV from September 2022 to February 23 according to USC Annenberg – gaining extraordinary reach with over 7.3 billion views collectively.

And we’re seeing people from all over the industry leading the way in normalizing climate change – from actors Mark Ruffalo and Sienna Miller, to musicians like Billie Eilish and Chris Martin, and more.
