Here’s a Mother’s Day promise
That I don’t want you to forget .
Because there will be days
that will be hard as sh*t…

You’ll have days of tears,
of no sleep and fears…
Especially when in the thick of it,
when you feel like you might be losing it…

Some days you will feel alone,
Probably more often than not.
You’ll wonder if you’ll ever be you again,
the person the world forgot.

Your house will be messy,
The dishes won’t be done.
Your laundry will be wrinkled,
Where’s the time for fun?

But don’t forget how much you wanted this,
How many tears you cried for this?
The times your body bled for this,
The aches and pains you had for this.

I promise you, mama,
That these days are hard,
There will be lots of unknowns,
You won’t know your card.

But I can also promise,
That there is nothing better.
The unexplainable love,
You can’t write in a letter.

When your eyes first lock,
The first holding of your finger.
The hugs and the kisses,
Let these memories linger.

The Mother’s Day promise,
I want you to remember,
Is that for love it is worth it;
Hold on to that ember.

Monday Reminder:

Your kids are a super condensed version of YOU.

The love were you given as a child, the punishments you received, the trauma you were surrounded by, the mentors that took you in… we all grew up a certain way and unconsciously mirror that.

The good, the bad, the ugly… they are bits and pieces of it all.

Thankfully, kids are moldable and hopefully will hold on to the best parts of your past, as well as those that they are currently experiencing because YOU are willing to put in the work to be the BEST example you can!

Nothing is set in stone: be BETTER so they can too 🩷💙
