Not only the natural beauty here, but the sense of place. Hacienda La Danesa is an EXPERIENCE, not just a place to stay.
Meticulously-appointed and dedicated to the destination, this ranch with 1,200+ acres provides guests with many opportunities to connect with the natural resources of Ecuador.
During my brief stay, I biked to (and then floated down) a lazy river filled just with rainwater. I experienced the process of making chocolate - from tasting the pods right off the tree to the raw beans and then the toasted beans (and nibs). I ground the beans by hand into a powder. And then learned the process of making a bar of chocolate - within FEET of where the cocoa trees grow. Amazing.
I also learned how to milk a cow, but the lesson was briefπππ₯
The guest rooms rooms at the hacienda are beautiful, airy, spacious and well appointed. The rooms and public spaces are surrounded by greenery - and the design beautifully brings the green indoors.
The service at every point is IMPECCABLE. And every meal was different, locally-sourced, and delicious.
But, really, the most beautiful element of the property is the experience. Itβs an opportunity to travel deeper and enjoy the destination in the most authentic way.
