30Storytelling is not meant to be studied from books.
Storytelling is meant to be lived—near death experiences, rejections, random acquaintances, romantic adventures, et al.
In 2021, I thought I suck at storytelling so I delved into a few books only to realize, a few weeks later, that theoretical knowledge I possess was not a problem.
The problem was lack of experience, that is, lack of living.
Sure, storytelling books have their purpose, which is to polish your already lived stories and make them stick in your reader's mind for as long as possible.
But the universal truth is this:
Before the story is formed, a life has to happen.
Life first, storytelling later.
