Tears for the island that raised me. Tears for my grandmother who left this Earth in 2018. Tears because I felt her standing right there beside me.
I grew up in Jamaica spending my childhood in her factory, surrounded by the hum of sewing machines and the power of Black women building something timeless. The Kareeba wasnāt just fashionāit was a declaration. A Caribbean creation that challenged colonial standards and redefined elegance on our own terms. It was ours. Wi likkle, but wi Tallawah.
And to make this moment even more divineāI wore an original House of Ivy skirt. My grandmother bought the fabric in Italy and made it 64 years ago.
Thatās legacy. Thatās love. Thatās full-circle.
The new Kareebas are loadingā¦ and our story is just beginning.Thank you for guiding me, my sweet angel and best friend , My Grandy. I love you forever.

THE HOUSE OF IVY is in the MET šÆš²! Iāve been holding this sacred secret since August of last year, and today, I can finally share it with the world: My grandmother, the legendary Ivy Ralph, and her iconic designāthe Kareebaāis officially in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. @metmuseum
