Happy Valentines Day!
Love, Joes.

It is impossible to separate the success of Joe’s, and the importance it represents to South Florida, from the incredible woman that helped shape both the iconic restaurant as well as our community. Jo Ann was the epitome of class, wisdom, generosity, humility, and real but measured influence. Hers was a life well lived, one worth celebrating and emulating.
While we know that the community will want and need to mourn the passing of someone of Jo Ann’s impact, we ask that her immediate family, and the entire Joe’s family, also be given the opportunity to mourn privately.
A celebration of life ceremony will be announced in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jo Ann’s memory to the following organizations:
• Urban Construction and Craft Academy
• Miami Rescue Mission
• Mt. Sinai Hospital
These are causes she cared deeply about, and it would please her immensely if she could continue to help and serve the community in this way.
We respectfully request that no calls be placed to the restaurant at this time. No interviews will be granted. All other media inquiries can be directed to The M Network – (305) 571-1455 or m@m.network.

It is with a profound sense of sadness that we must announce the passing of Jo Ann Bass. Jo Ann was more than the CEO, matriarch, visionary, brand guardian, and head tastemaker of Joe’s Stone Crab. She was Mom.
