34This journey has pushed me to learn what it really means to live off the land and how to work with my hands. As a result, it's opened my eyes to the world of bushcraft. The idea of walking out into a forest with a backpack full of supplies, to build and live in a shelter that can weather -40 degree temperatures is fascinating.
Recently l've tasked myself to do one crazy thing per year, when I saw the opportunity to compete for $1,000,000
by surviving as long as I can in the Alaskan Wilderness. My knee jerk response was, "Let me go get a coat, some pants...and a diaper". When I spoke to my outdoor friend/mentor, about this opportunity, his response was, "You're 15 years too late to start becoming a Boy Scout."

l'll take the trade off anyday. Everyday I'm only trying to compete with myself. Grateful for those that I met and what they taught me along the way whether it be perspective or skills. I hope to continue on my growth journey and grow into the man I'm intended to be for my family, friends, and loved ones.

Five years ago, I was just an office drone with limited outdoor experience. Recently, I've been drawn to this idea of self sufficiency. This lead me to try and start a hobby farm, with the intent to feed my family for an entire year.
