6The wild thing is that every time I would turn on the tv that fall Clemson would be on and I started watching them play having no idea they were using my book. I loved their energy and started rooting for them.
They had a great season and they reached out to me and told me they used my book and would love for me to speak at training camp before the 2012 season. I said I’ve been watching you all and would love to.
I’ve spoken at every training camp since and also speak some times during the season. Both my kids went to Clemson. We’ve gone to many games including national championships. Dabo and Clemson hold a special place in my heart and have enriched my life in so many incredible ways. Very grateful!
When I look back there’s no doubt it was part of God’s greater plan. I’ve heard so many stories from Dabo including the ones we share together. I think Dabo and I will write a book in the future and let me tell you when you hear his story from his own mouth you will be blown away. It’s like Rudy but 1000x better.

edmylett and I spoke to the clemsonfb team during training camp this year and since both our kids go to Clemson we brought our wives to see them and a game. It was an amazing day hanging with family kathryngordon kristiannamylett and friends (thank you sherrybradshaw tracielynnmusic and rooting for the Tigers! Oh, talking with briandawkinssr was pretty awesome too.

My friend edmylett and I talk about a lot of meaningful things. We often share ideas, challenges and concepts, etc. Most of those conversations are private. But today we recorded an episode for his incredible podcast where we went very deep and talked about things I’ve never shared before. It was literally a soul to soul talk. We talked about The One Truth everyone needs to know and so much more. The convo will be out in a few weeks and can’t wait for you to hear it!

This was my 12th straight year speaking to clemsonfb during training camp. In 2011 Chad Morris gave Dabo my book Training Camp after seeing it on a bookshelf at the book store and reading it. Dabo read it and used it that year with his team sharing one of the eleven characteristics of what the best do to be great.
