As a mom of 6, I have seen my fair share of sickness over the years! I know how hard it can be when sickness hits the house. I am so glad that stores are getting better options. Here’s what I look for when someone is sick:

➡️Broth- Bone broth is packed with healing properties. It’s full of minerals that support our immune system and help our bodies recover faster. Bone broth contains amino acids and minerals that have anti-inflammatory properties. It also contains the amino acid N-acetyl-cysteine and that paired with the steam from the broth helps break down mucus, which helps clear out the nasal passages. 1

➡️Herbal Tea- Elderberry, lemon balm and echinacea are all so good to sip on. Elderberries are anti-viral, echinacea can help lessen symptoms and lemon balm is calming and soothing. 2

➡️Supplements- Propolis helps “achieve a more effective immune system”. Vitamin C is a powerhouse for immune support, and vitamin D is just as important, especially in the winter months. 3

➡️Electrolytes- When you’re sick, it’s easy to become dehydrated, especially if you have symptoms like fever, sweating, or vomiting. Electrolytes help your body retain the right amount of fluid and ensure that hydration gets delivered into your cells effectively. Without adequate electrolytes, you may struggle to rehydrate properly, leaving you feeling more fatigued or even dizzy. 4
