KJ Focus is an independent saxophonist, producer, songwriter, rapper, and composer whose music blends jazz, soul, hip-hop, R&B, and cinematic storytelling into a sound rooted in faith, purpose, and human connection. Raised between Oakland and Richmond, California, KJ’s music reflects the resilience, culture, and creativity of both cities that shaped his identity.
His musical journey began by accident. While attending Richmond High School, KJ was mistakenly placed in a band class. Instead of changing his schedule, he embraced the opportunity—and that unexpected decision changed the course of his life.
