The only thing more powerful than hate is love.
So please love everybody, love loudly and love always. I know the world can be scary but I also see how beautiful it can be because as soon as I landed in Sydney I got an invitation to a Brit Milah and was able to share so much joy soon after visiting Bondi memorial where I saw people of all religion praying together. I got a lift when stuck in the Amalfi coast from complete strangers who preferred squeezing in the smallest car instead of leaving me there, and I got invited to Sardegna from people that would now be strangers if I just didn’t say “hi” to them at Chabad. My tour guide in Romania offered me chocolate just because I cared to ask him his story and I got to share meals, pics and conversations with kids

Thought I’d miss you forever but it’s February 14th, and I am walking through a Safari in South Africa and all I feel is love and joy and excitement, all around and inside of me.
And really thought I’d miss you forever but it’s just another random day of February where I wake up to a life that feels closer to my dreams and I just realized you are not in them.
And thought I’d miss you forever but I am looking at the zebras and giraffes and the elephants… - Oh my, I finally finally finally got to see elephants in real life! And all I can feel instead is gratitude, to be right here, right now to understand that a lone elephant doesn’t have to be a lonely one.
Thought I’d feel it forever: you, the pain, the void but sometimes it takes Valentine’s Day to realize that the world is so big and I won’t feel alone in it because I can’t miss what’s meant for me. That loneliness sits on broken promises, while all I am doing is making my younger self’s bucket list come to life.
Thought I’d miss you forever but when I walk down the promenade every morning and look at the ocean, the waves just carry that thought away and I don’t feel heaviness, stress, or ambiguity. See, maybe I don’t need to wake up feeling unchosen, because I can fly and ride and drive and go. Away from every heartbreak, mistake, regret.
Thought I’d miss you forever, and would have to adapt to the winter, the cold, the rain, but I guess it’s always summer

All I can say is traveling doesn’t solve your problems, but it does put them in perspective. You meet new people and new places and are exposed to different realities that make you realise how small your problems are. And if South Africa taught me anything, it’s that no matter what, you can always hakuna matata yourself out of a situation.
And maybe they don’t like me, and maybe things didn’t work out, and maybe I don’t have a plan, but it’s hard to feel stressed when I pause to see just how much beauty is there all around me. Life is a marvellous gift and I might not know a lot of things but I do know that one day it will be taken from me, so I owe it to the blessing of being alive to be grateful for every second of it.
All my problems only mean that I still have a beating heart and if I am still alive I can still wake up and try again and have another chance and another chance, until one day I will get through it. And I used to think I needed the perfect life to feel grateful, when truly it’s gratitude that makes my life perfect.
Life will happen no matter what, bad things will come, that’s the part of the journey we can’t control, how we react to what happens is the only control we have. And I can guarantee the journey becomes incredibly beautiful when the goal is to feel and experience instead of arriving. Becau

When I read the news I fear the world, I doubt humanity and I get scared of people. But when I travel I am constantly reminded that at the end of the day we all bleed the same red, that no matter where we come from , no matter our history, no matter the km between our birthplaces, no matter the differences between us, we all have the same dreams, and laugh at the same silly jokes, and dance weirdly and get emotional at the same things. No matter our skin color or nationality or language or age or religion we are all inherently, inevitably and imperfectly human. And when you see it like this, you can only truly focus on what unites us rather than divides us.
💌 a love letter to life in honour of Adar and all the ones telling me how much happier I look:
