JOEL PAYNE

Joel-Victor Payne is an artist, author, and illustrator from Carson, California. Before writing books, he spent more than thirty years as a master barber and salon owner in Los Angeles, where he became a favorite stylist for celebrities, athletes, and entertainers. His creativity extends far beyond the barber’s chair—Joel-Victor is also a painter, photographer, and filmmaker who loves turning everyday experiences into art that inspires.
He has worked in education with special needs students, a role that strengthened his belief in every child’s ability to shine. A graduate of Santa Monica College and Abraham Friedman Occupational Center.
