At the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, the Telangana Rising delegation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UPC Volt—a joint venture between UPC Renewables Group and VOLT Data Centers—to establish a 100 MW AI-ready data center in #bharatfuturecity
The project involves an investment of ₹5,000 crore over the next five years.
The facility will be supported by a 100 MW round-the-clock renewable energy plant and seamlessly integrated with renewable power sourcing under Telangana’s Green Open Access framework, underscoring our commitment to sustainable and resilient growth.
This landmark investment is expected to create over 3,000 jobs during the construction phase and more than 800 skilled jobs during operations, generating substantial employment opportunities and strengthening the state’s digital economy.

82The discussions focused on the objectives of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and a proposal to host an annual World Economic Forum follow-up conference in Telangana every July. I shared my perspective that such a follow-up platform would be valuable to review progress on the discussions and decisions taken at Davos each January. I also conveyed the Government of Telangana’s readiness to host this follow-up conference in partnership with the World Economic Forum. The proposal received a positive response, and they indicated that a decision would be taken shortly.
Mr. Jeremy Jurgens appreciated the multi-dimensional nature of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, noting that it offers significant opportunities for collaborative engagement. He expressed keen interest in the World Economic Forum partnering in this vision.
We also discussed the progress of C4IR Telangana (Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution), which was launched during BioAsia 2024 in Hyderabad. It was noted that this is the first thematic C4IR center in India focused on health and life sciences, established by the World Economic Forum.

At the Telangana Pavilion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, I held discussions with Mr. Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, and Ms. Manju George, Head of C4IR Network Coordination.
The discussions focused on the objectives of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and a proposal to host an annual World Economic Forum follow-up conference in Telangana every July.
