As we near the end of another year, I’m thinking of you. Of your leadership. Of your commitment. Of your investment to grow. Many of us look to a new year as an opportunity to start again. The truth is, we don’t have to wait until January 1, 2024 for a fresh start. Your fresh start is now. It was yesterday. It’s tomorrow. It’s all around you.

Aristotle once said, “ Excellence is not an act, it’s a habit.”

Lasting leadership starts with a conviction to continue. To simply go again, day by day, into the unknown future. Your leadership hinges on these fundamentals: practice, patterns, and patience.

There are positives to success but have you thought of the pressures? Everyone teaches what to do in failure, but very few teach what to do when you succeed.

Are you ready for the promotion you’ve been praying for?
Are you ready for the pressure school will bring once you’re accepted?
Are you ready for that new relationship once she says yes?

The mature me doesn’t only need to learn how to respond to failure, the mature me must learn how to handle success. Success is less about my strength and more about my stewardship. Stay humble, keep teaching, practice gratitude.
