I was a participant on the panel titled “Building Bridges: Haitian Americans in Local and National U.S. Politics,” organized by The National Haitian American Elected Officials Network (NHAEON) hosted by youth Caucus Chair, Princess Jolie Charles.
The panel featured Congressman Maxwell Frost and Marc Alain Boucicault, Founder of Banj in Haiti and I. It highlighted the increasing influence of Haitian Americans in U.S. politics at both local and national levels, focusing on coalition-building, representation, and policy advocacy that affects both the diaspora and Haiti.
It was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to share my journey from my initial internship at a lobbying firm, working on campaigns to my current position, and emphasizing the significance of sports and technology for the economic development of Haitian communities and Haiti.
