We decided that at the beginning of the dancing portion of the wedding, we would have a mechitzah (division) between the men and women. During this portion we did traditional Jewish circle dancing. This way our Rabbis and more orthodox/ Hasidic friends would feel comfortable dancing with us.
After the first 2 dances, we took the mechitzah down! Jacob and I knew we wanted to dance together and with our family all mixed in one circle. Since Jacob and I consider ourselves MODERN orthodox, this was the perfect compromise to make our more religious guests comfortable and for us to still dance with all our friends and family towards the end of the wedding!

Creating a Jewish home is a lot of work but so worth it! We can’t wait until the kitchen is fully kosher and ready to be used! 😄

Did we have separate or mixed gendered dancing at our wedding? 😮
