Happy birthday mom! Love you more than ever! Today I’m going to open up to everyone a little bit our relationship and some newly renewed vows I took with you and dad! Newly renewed vows? Oh yes! See my mom and I were connected to the hip when I was growing up. Best friends! Running errands etc. Was great!I grew as the only child so all attention (and heat lol) was on me. I think I turned out ok because of how close my parents watched over me and because they taught me about Jesus and His principals early on. But the thing is TIMES CHANGED. I grew up. I got busy. I chose a crazy demanding career. I lived in a library basically from 20-30 perusing the dream of being a doctor. And where did that friendship go? Where did that little 10 year old chubby boy that used to always be in the passenger seat go? See, now as a dad I confess it’s kinda cool your son depending on you for everything…gives you this cool hero feeling. :) but deep inside I know one day I’ll probably depend on him, even to use the bathroom. It’s the cycle of life. But the point I am trying to get at, I decided recently, because of some recent events, to connect with my parents and the rest of the family at a deeper level. Spend real quality time like that kid again. - [ ] We end up getting to used to just “doing the motions” with the people and life around us just become too mundane.
