Switzerland's biggest bank UBS will acquire the 167-year-old Credit Suisse in a rescue deal, Swiss authorities have announced. The deal is aimed at securing financial stability and protecting the Swiss economy in an exceptional situation, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) said in a statement. While the deal value was not announced, an earlier report pegged it at over $2 billion.
