It was such an honour to meet and spend time with the First Lady of Brazil today to discuss the need for an equitable phase-out of fossil fuels, as per the @fossilfueltreaty.
Thank you @sergiomarone for being such a fantastic host and to my fellow panellists @licypriyakangujam and @tukuma_pataxo for their brilliant and compelling insights - there is no climate justice without advocating for those most marginalised, transitioning away from fossil fuels, holding world leaders to account and centring indigenous knowledge. @glblctzn tomorrow and then I’ll be back in Brazil for the COP30 in Belém 💚

In amongst the chaos of this world and the incessant compulsion to nitpick, self-evaluate/critique and fall into despair, I’m trying to enjoy the beauty of this crazy planet and the incredible people I meet along the way :’)
There’s never a day that goes by where I’m not both heartbroken and healed by this world so to revel in the loveliness of everything is pretty important.
Thank you Rio for the new friendships, a reignited appreciation for açai (last time I had it was in Belém after I sailed there!), vitamin D ☀️ (I am definitely a sunshine baby - two decades in Asia guarantees that), the lessons, the accountability, the renewed sense of hope and some bloody good downtime after what has been the. craziest. year. to. date. Back to 🥶 England where I’ll (mostly) be taking the rest of the year off to decompress and 💤
