A true visionary & guiding light, Ximena was a devoted patron of the arts, a powerful voice for environmental justice and Indigenous rights, and an unwavering community builder through @metro1cre . She embodied what @_tonycho_ calls “Soft Power” — the graceful fusion of strength and sensitivity, action and prayer.
Her philanthropic impact touched countless organizations, including Friends of the New World Symphony, Bass Museum, PAMM, ICA, YoungArts, wildpath, Path of the Panther, Amazon Watch, The Chopra Foundation, Cho Family Foundation, M1 Community, and many more.
This year Ximena was honored on Earth Day with the Visionary Earth Steward Award by Caminantes de la Nueva Tierra and Miami-Dade County. Her legacy endures through the Ximena Cho Legacy Fund, carrying forward her devotion to the Earth, to healing, and to a more compassionate, interconnected world.

This book was born from more than two decades of lived experience inside cities as they transformed. Watching what worked, what didn’t, and what was quietly lost along the way. It emerged from years of asking myself, again and again:
What would it look like to build places that don’t just sustain life… but actively heal it?
Generation Regeneration explores regenerative placemaking as both a framework and a practice: reimagining cities as living ecosystems where community, culture, and nature work together to create long-term vitality and belonging.Â
This isn’t about perfection or utopia. It’s about participation. Prototyping. Learning together.
This book was not written alone. It was shaped through conversation, collaboration, and deep listening with an extraordinary network of practitioners, leaders, and community builders.
I’m deeply grateful to the leaders and friends who have supported this work and offered their voices to the book, including @vishen, @dhdeegan, @danbuettner, and @peterdiamandis. And @greenleafbookgr for believing in this work and helping bring Generation Regeneration into the world.
Generation Regeneration is not just a book, it’s an invitation.
A shared language.
A co-creative movement toward a future that heals.
If you pre-order the book now, you’ll receive free access to a global summit this July

built a new digital home that actually listens. introducing a regenerative ai chatbot trained on my work across cities, regeneration, and innovation—ask it about the future we’re building.
this isn’t just a website. it’s an extension of the conversation we’re having about how cities can heal, how systems can regenerate, how we design for human flourishing.
